RL Associates unveils a new line of commercial products for optical applications

RL Associates, Inc. is introducing three new products that will be available in mid-June for custom orders. The products include a monochromator, a narrowband holographic optical filter, and a beam-shaping collimator.

A monochromator is used for separating wavelengths in spectroscopic applications. The use of volume holographic technology in these monochromators results in a miniature unit with high resolution (~1cm-1). Monochromators are used in areas such as multi-spectral imaging and chemical species identification for applications such as environmental monitoring, illicit drug analysis or Improvised Explosive Device (IED) detection.

The RL Associates’ holographic optical filter features a wide field-of-view (acceptance angle) combined with a narrow spectral linewidth and high efficiency. This combination of features makes it the most versatile optical bandpass filters on the market today. The filter will be customized to fit the specific needs of the application.

The beam-shaping collimator is a holographic optical element that accepts light from a wide range of angles and produces nearly collimated light. The RL Associates’ collimator is unique in that it produces a collimated output beam of nearly the same size as the input.
